Lucinda Vega's Staging Area

I ran Encinitas Half Marathon for the first time on March 31; it was my 18th half marathon. What made me want to run this race in the first place was the awesome medal I saw they had in 2018 so I registered to run. It’s great they offer same day bib pickup because I’m coming from Orange County and didn’t want to drive down twice. I reached out to the race a few days before asking for help with parking and they got back to me within minutes. Meg was so helpful and gave me tips on where to park for an easy race morning. When I got there everything was so organized, they had tons of available porta potties so not much of a wait for me then I picked up my bib and packet. The shirt was a nice and soft tech tee and I also got a mug. The gear check was right there so I just checked in all my stuff until after the race. The start of the race was at Moonlight State Beach and the views were gorgeous! It was a nice course and mostly flat. They had plenty of water stations along the way, and one station with fuel which we passed twice. The medal was awesome! I love how the results were posted immediately, some races you have to wait days to see how you did. The town looked super cute and I definitely want to go back and check it out more. I would definitely run this race again!
