This is one of my favorite Kansas City half marathons! The race is very well put on, the biggest post race buffet you will find and sincerely appreciate the “allergy friendly” food table they do for those of us that can’t eat from the regular food tables, that is something that a lot of races overlook. Plenty of water stations, so many volunteers make parking easy, good course photos, cute photo booth and the medals are always one of my favorites.
The only things I would change is the Half Marathon T-shirt material and moving the turn around point up a little bit so the course isn’t long. I would prefer a super soft cotton shirt, I never wear the shirts because I don’t like the fabric. But I love one of the quarter zips I bought many years ago!

I have ran in 2018 and 2019, stellar experience in 2018 but the 2019 course is one I would never repeat, I’m happy that I’ve heard that they are working on a new course for 2020 because I would love to do this race every year, and hope the distance will not be 13.3 miles again. They do have plenty of volunteers to make race day go smoothly!
