If I hadn’t know this was the first Coastguard Marathon, I would never have guessed it was the first – it was that well organized. Packet pickup was a breeze, there were plenty of volunteers and race staff, course marshals in all the necessary places, water stations every 2 miles, and tons of crowd support! The Coastguard planes and helicopter flyover at the start was awesome, definitely left an impression. Running through the Coastguard base with uniformed Coastguard cheering was nothing short of amazing. And that medal, WOW! I can’t wait to do this again next year!
