To be honest, I’ve personally always hated this course but, Brazen Racing always does an amazing job hosting this race in beautiful “Slugatoga”. Very well marked, beautiful views . . . But just watch out for those darn rocks/hidden ditches. Rolled over my ankle by the house that is about .5 miles away from the finish line . . . BUT! I still finished. 🙂

This race was super fun, but not your typical Brazen trail race. This course was flat with a couple of small concret hills. You run in the neighborhood of Concord, which was a nice change of pace to see spectators coming out of their houses to cheer you on. I would recommend this race for those friends who love road races and also love Brazen Racing. Shoutout to Stomper from the Oakland A’s who greeted runners at the very end! 🙂

As a repeat runner, I’ll admit that I used to HATE this course. (Only because I hit a rock going downhill and almost fell of the cliff if I didn’t catch my balance.) Now, this is one of my favorite courses because it does help you prepare for some of the harder trail races (in my opinion) like tge Wildcat and Rocky Ridge courses. The scencery is absolutely breath taking here! Just watch out for bee hives because they are in the area, but the bees won’t bother you if you don’t bother them. 😉

I always love this Valentine’s themed race because it is a great reflection on the Brazen Community. Everyone is so supportive and helpful that you feel the love from the moment you pick up your bib to the moment you leave the race. Great flat course with a couple of dips, but the 5K is a piece o’ cake compared to some of the other 5K trail races. 😉

The Almost New Year’s Eve race that Brazen Racing puts together is probably one of my favorites among their 26 races. If you come early enough, you get to see the runners who become “streakers” (aka the runners who ran every race in the Brazen series for one calendar year) and receive their shadow boxes and streaker numbers. That in itself is an event itself! The 5k course is easy, but gives you a couple of hills to go up and down to challenge your legs. As always, the volunteers are nothing but wonderful! Kudos to Sam and Jasmin for always running (no pun intended) a great event! =)
