I know the course was altered this year to accommodate the amount of snow that the region has received. The first 5 miles of the run were through the back country outside of West Yellowstone. It was a beautiful run through the forest along cross country ski trails. For a trail run, the paths were very very well maintained! From mile 6-12, the course was altered to be on a paved path. It was still really beautiful with bridges, trees, water…all the nature. The out and back portion of the run was a nice distraction to watch all the front runners coming back along the course. Overall, the run was a lot of fun! I would do it again.

I really enjoyed this race. The weather could have been better for us and the clouds blocked the view of the Grand Teton mountain range but other than that, the course was awesome!

I appreciated that the road the course is run on is very well maintained and doesn’t dramatically slope. The run from Wilson to Teton Village is slightly uphill but it wasn’t very noticeable after mile 6. The first 6 miles were rolling hills on a paved trail. The course also had plenty of room for runners to spread out. I never felt overly crowded on the course.

Overall, I would do this run again!

This is my second year (in a row) participating in the BMW Dallas Marathon Festival. This year, I did the half marathon course.

The course itself is a lot of fun which is why I did this one again. Out of the corrals in downtown Dallas can be a bit frustrating because there are a lot of runners and the streets are a bit more narrow. It took me the first two miles to get to a spot where I found a comfortable pace.

I love this course for the people! When you get into the Highland Park neighborhood, the residence there are amazing motivators to keep you going! Donuts, shots, candy, hot chocolate, they do not disappoint! Overall the run is through very pretty areas of town up until about mile 11.

The Swag! That was the other reason I’ve done this race twice now. For the money, you get more swag than any other race I’ve been a part of. They offer a fall fun run that you can participate in as part of your training that is incorporated in several areas around town. I’ve done the Grapevine run twice and it was a great experience both times.

The finishers area has some great food options to refuel post race and is a great area to reconnect with friends and family.

This years race was COLD! It was 22 degrees when we started. The race course was really pretty through some of the historic neighborhoods of Tulsa and along the river. The course was mostly surface streets through town which were pretty well maintained and not overly curved.

I was a little disappointed at how little this race was actually on Route 66 but I knew that going into the race after doing some research and seeing the the course had changed a bit.

Overall though, it was a fun race through some really pretty areas of Tulsa.

This years run was WET! It rained the entire morning but being from Colorado, that helped with the humidity and heat level which helped keep me nice and cool but not cold. The run is BEAUTIFUL! I really enjoyed having the opportunity to run in this area of the country and of course, enjoy the National Park.

The course itself was a mixture of surface highways and trail, all paved and for the most part, flat and well maintained. The race started on the highway which gave runners plenty of room to spread out before eventually condensing down to sidewalk. The road was not busy with traffic which was also great.

VR is quickly becoming one of my favorite series and I am really glad that I put this one in the books this year. The medal was awesome and as long as you register early, the swag is great! Already looking for my next VR race in 2023!

I have to preface this race with the OKC bombing museum. We came into OKC a day early and went to the museum which was absolutely eye opening. I remember when the bombing happened but I wasn’t old enough to really comprehend it. Going through the museum really put things into perspective for me and made this run a bit more emotional than I anticipated. Seeing finisher medals draped over the chairs of those lost was an insightful reminder not to take life and running for granted.

The course on race day was good I hadn’t spent any time in OKC before this run and it was a great tour of the city. The spectators were awesome! Several people out just watching and cheering people on, passing out snacks and the occasional shot!

My only complaint for this run actually isn’t with the run itself, but the night before the race when we were trying to find an early dinner, we were met with high school prom goers and packed restaurants that made it more difficult to find food close to the race hotels. We were also met with a tornado warning that evening in the restaurant but that is just April in Oklahoma!

The morning of the race, we all huddled in the runners tent trying to keep warm. It was a COLD morning for sure. Once we got going, we experienced rain, hail/sleet/snow?, and sunny skies, haha!

This race is almost completely done on a two lane highway. The highway itself was okay, not the worst but not the best either. The course is also almost completely uphill…which it didn’t seem that way! The road looks deceivingly downhill but when I was walking by mile 11, I knew I had gone out to quickly and should have followed the elevation map rather than the tricks my eyes were playing on me..oh well!

BEAUTIFUL race! I stopped several times for photo opportunities outside of Zion National Park. This was my first VR race and have done another since! They are quickly becoming my favorite race series. I appreciate the “zero waste” approach to these events.

Overall, I would recommend this race to anyone who isn’t afraid of some cold weather and an uphill course!

My only complaint about this race is some of the marathon course was rough going. I could have gone without the trip around White Rock lake which is torn up gravel and broken pavement. Obviously not the race’s fault but it killed my feet.

This was a unique opportunity to run Colfax in October (due to COVID) which is one of the best months for weather in Denver. It was also a unique opportunity to run through Bronco’s Stadium while the field was painted for football!

This was my second go around with Colfax. The course is long (literally!) up and down Colfax avenue with a couple of detours along the way. Overall, definitely a fun run! You get to see a lot of historic Colfax Ave in Denver which is great, but Colfax isn’t the best road so watch out for potholes.

I’ve done this race twice as a long time resident of Denver and I would do it again!
