Lived up to the hype. Having heard how popular the race was I made travel arrangements 9 months in advance. Needed a race in North Dakota for my 47th state. Very well organized packet pickup, but not that many exhibitors present. There is a big crowd, so don’t wait until the last minute on race morning. It will take a while to get to the Fargodome parking. Start in the Fargodome was awesome, as it was a pretty miserable weather day. Low 40’s, rain and wind. Can’t do anything about the weather. Flat course, well marked and monitored and plenty of spectators out, in spite of the weather. Finish in the Fargodome was awesome – let you get out of the elements. Cool medal with Hebrews 12:1 inscribed on the back. Race swag was a very nice, hooded long sleeve jersey. Would recommend for anyone who needs a race in North Dakota.

Mostly run on a paved, flat rails to trails kind of course. Not much scenery. As with most races these days, predominately half marathoners. It was pretty lonely on the last half and at the finish line. Not much swag nor food/drink at the finish. Opened the local school, which was nice to stay out of the elements pre race with access to rest rooms. Evidently a funky local custom – anywhere on the course, apparently if you are tired you raise your arm and just stop in the middle of the pack and the heck with anyone who might be behind you. Just about crashed and burned a couple of times. Nice option for 50 staters.
