The organization of the Zaragoza Marathon offers you two alternatives: on the one hand, the 42 kilometers of the long event, which is our raison d’être, and, on the other, a 10K for those athletes who prefer not to undergo such an intense effort or that, simply, they want to participate in the day in a modality more in line with their training, their possibilities or their tastes.
Our will is to consolidate in the Aragonese capital a test that we still consider relatively young, since ten years are not a long journey if we compare with other appointments in cities close to ours. We believe that we have an important margin of growth and we are not satisfied with being the eighth marathon of the country by participation, since we think that our proposal is of great quality.
In any case, in addition to wanting to attract the interest of many marathon runners, we will continue offering the ten kilometers as another way to make the holiday of that Sunday unforgettable.
The routes of the 42K and its ‘little sister’ the 10K have in common the transit for much of what we might consider the heart of the city: the surroundings of the Basilica del Pilar and the Ebro River, with its most emblematic bridges.
Both races start from the Plaza del Pilar and have the goal line fixed on that same stage, which means concentrating the emotion not only of the runners, who enjoy a privileged frame, but also of the companions, who become infected of the greatness of sport, in its most competitive or popular version.
Also in both cases, the fact that the last meters run down Calle Alfonso, contemplating the “descent” to El Pilar, and surrounding the square by the source of Goya before crossing the finish line, favors the creation of an environment that goes deep in the participants
