EVENT DISCONTINUED. From race website: “The team of the Wiesbaden Marathon says THANK YOU! We proudly look back on the development since the first edition in 2012. Since then, the Wiesbaden Marathon has become the largest cycling and running event in Wiesbaden and a fixed date in the scene. After seven successful years, we have taken the decision after careful consideration to 2019 the event not continue. Due to new professional challenges, the organizers Paul Schumacher, Tobias Bremser and Alexander Voos will no longer be able to afford the time needed for such an event. We would like to thank all participants and spectators for their loyalty, the mood, the fair competition and above all the nice memories! A special thank you to all volunteers, which, through their tireless efforts, as well as all sponsors and supporters, made the events possible. We wish you all a successful season and all the best! Paul, Tobi and Alex”

Wiesbaden marathon is a very heavy trail with around 700 meters of elevation. The course starts at about 500 meters above sea level and first takes the runners downhill to run it all up in the 2nd part of the race. In terms of drinks, gels and food the best supply I have ever experienced! Apples, oranges, bananas, energy bars, gels and water or iso-drinks are provides every 2,5km. You even get cakes and of course beer at the finish. Unfortunately runners do not get a finisher medal.
