War Hammer 100 Mile Endurance Run

The War Hammer 100 has been called by participants “the hardest race in Kentucky.” We didn’t set out to make it so, but we did want to present a challenge to runners unlike any other. Waterfalls, boulder scrambles, riverbanks, bridges, and lakeside trails are just some of the features that make the War Hammer 100 the challenge of a lifetime.

The race is a double out-and-back beginning and ending at Kentucky’s Sheltowee Camp – an incredible venue complete with campsites, cabins, bunkhouse, and a full bathhouse with showers! Runners travel 25 miles south to Cumberland Falls State Park, over the falls, and back to the start line. For the second half of the race runners will traverse technical creek beds, several creek crossings, and uneven trails that showcase the brutal beauty of the Bluegrass State.

Finishers of the War Hammer 100 receive more than the knowledge that they’ve done something truly daunting. They also receive handmade wood-crafted awards by us at Next Opportunity Events with the overall men’s and women’s race winners receiving the War Hammer itself!
