Vintners 5 Miler

The fifth annual Vintners 5 Miler presented by the Santa Barbara Vintners Foundation is a unique trail run or walk through the Rinconada and Sanford & Benedict Vineyards in the beautiful, world-famous Santa Rita Hills. Runners and walkers will be treated to one of the most unique experiences on the Central Coast!

Starting at the Sanford Winery Tasting Room parking lot, runners will proceed 1.75 miles around the relatively flat lima bean field. Just before the 2-mile mark runners will head for the hills with 350 feet of elevation and be rewarded with one of the best views in the valley from the Rinconada and Sanford & Benedict Vineyards. The final 2 miles, as runners head back to the finish line adjacent to the Sanford Winery Tasting Room, is primarily downhill with some light rolling hills.

A 1 Mile Wine Walk is also available – enjoy Sparkling Wine (must be 21 & older) and orange juice during your leisurely stroll through the Sanford & Benedict vineyards! After the walk, settle down and enjoy the Finish Line Festival.

Water stations are provided in three locations for the 5 Miler and once for the 1 Mile Walk. Both courses are open to all abilities with no-minimum finishing time requirements. Walkers are welcome. Courses subject to change.

Along with the run & walk, a Finish Line Festival welcomes everyone of all ages to celebrate the coming harvest from Santa Barbara’s wine region. This can’t miss festival will provide you with exclusive tastings of some of the best regional food and wine as well as live music to enjoy it with! For any kids attending there will be a family zone with games and a bounce house.

In 2018 the Vintners Foundation supported the Santa Ynez Valley Community Aquatics Foundation. In 2017, proceeds were donated to the Los Alamos Youth After School Program.
