Vaal River City Marathon

The Rand Water Vaal River City Marathon is part of the Vaal River Carnival. The event is to be held in conjuction with the Lekoa Athletics Club and Vaal River City Marathon NPC.

Join us this year as we take off from the Isak Steyl Stadium in a thrilling 5km, 10km, 21km and an all grueling 42.2km marathon this September. Dust off those old running shoes and get fit.

The race distances for the 3 main distances have been measured, certified and approved by the IAAF.

The event was so well received that the AVT Province has decided to make it the 10km and 42.2km provincial championships.

This event is only one of two marathons to be the first qualifier for the Two Oceans Marathon and the Comrades Marathon.

This is a fast easy qualifier, that will be timed mat to mat on the 21.1km and 42.2km for the best qualifying time possible. The 10km will be timed gun to mat.
