Who knew Waco was in the mountains?! The swim is in the Brazos, so murky but OK and no strong currents. The bike is pretty fast and flat, so not too bad. The run? Oh man, the run. There were HUGE hills once you hit Cameron Park that I was not emotionally prepared for. Oh wow! Be prepared if you do the Oly, it’s not an easy run. It is pretty, though, so there’s that! The swag is great- we got one of my all-time favorite race shirts, awesome medals, pint glasses, and good snacks. They had a fun finish line across a bridge with a free photo booth, good food, and hotels are right across the street. I definitely liked the race, but when I go back, I’ll be better prepared!
