The Thirsty Leprechaun 5K is back, taking place along the beautiful waterfront of South Portland and Casco Bay! Join for a fun filled 5K, passing through Bug Light Park and ending at the American Legion #35 where runners will be greeted with their very own commemorative mug and delicious craft brew by Foulmouthed Brewing!
The first 1.4 miles of the course is on paved roadway, and the remainder is on the 8’ wide paved Greenbelt Pathway. The race starts in a closed-off lane on Broadway. Runners will turn left on Breakwater Dr, right on Madison St, and then get onto the Greenbelt Pathway at Bug Light Park. There are spectacular views of the Bug Light lighthouse and the Portland skyline all along the Pathway. The surface conditions along the Pathway can vary from one section to another and you should be prepared to run on slippery and uneven surfaces. The City Public Works department will help us to plow, salt, and sand the the Greenbelt Pathway leading up to the race. The race finishes on the Pathway near the American Legion building.
