I’ve been wanting to run this marathon for many years and finally got to do it in 2023. Turned out to be an absolutely amazing experience, my only regret is waiting for so long to run it. Very easy commute to the start, right by the Babylon LIRR train station, seamless bib pick up. The course is very scenic, crossing I think at least 3 bridges, very windy, so be prepared. Absolutely beautiful, scenic course. Volunteers were wonderful, but I suggest bringing your own water bottle and minimal nutrition. Great post race party, they keep food and extra swag for slow runners. The race ends in East Islip I think and there are shuttle buses that take you back to the Babylon LIRR station. Very well organized finish line. Comparing to other quite boring Long Island marathons, this one is a winner. Will absolutely run it again.

A truly fun race. The support teams were amazing (this race helped support local veterans so there was a lot of volunteers along the course). The views on the Robert Moses Causeway were outstanding. Fueling stations were super well stocked and attended throughout the race. Only downside was the rain and the race has no way of controlling that *lol*

Ran the half marathon and felt this was an over priced event. The Half cost $130, the 10K was $84. It might have been cheaper early on but it doesn’t matter. The course is ok as you run over the Great South Bay of Long Island but there is very little support. The Marathoners get even less support. Some of the miler markers were missing and there was not one timing clock from start to finish except at the finish line.
The medal is disappointing. In fact no matter what race you ran, whether it be the full, half or 10K, everyone received the same medal.
The giveaway shirt was cotton and like the medal, no matter the race, everyone got the same shirt.
The after party was ok, suffered due to the rain but the party ended well before the last finishers of the race.
