The setting is the best asset, pretty area with an OK course. The race direction, swag, and overall planning however was pretty poor though.

A few things – The 5K course broke off from the 8 miler and once it did there really was a lack of support. There was some terms you just had to guess which way the course went, not ever point was manned and the bike path where the last mile ran was still open to bikers.
The post race festivities were strange. The 5K ended in one spot, the 8 miler in another and the post race a good 10 minute walk from both. It was so spread out it made no sense. 30 minutes after finishing the 5K we walked over to the post-race and it still wasn’t set up. We ended up just leaving, wasting a lot of time walking back and forth.
Apparently their idea of a “tech” shirt is a basic cotton tee with a poor design. Sorry but if you say “tech” know what that actually means.
3 weeks after the race is over the results are still not posted to their site, and neither are race photos. If you go digging around the internet you find them elsewhere on the sites of those contracted to do handle both. The photos did capture any 5K runners during the race, only 8 milers. They could have stationed the photographer to capture a stretch where the races were combined.
The start was in a gravel parking lot. They could have started on the road or someplace other than where cars are parked.
Probably the worst race setup I’ve seen in a few years (30+ races).
