The Stockton Lake Wildlife Challenge Triathlon was created in 2013 as a fundraiser for the Stockton Community Foundation, a local non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of people in this area. Now in its 5th year, the Wildlife Challenge has grown in popularity and continues to be a great race for experienced and first-time triathletes. The Challenge offers two courses, Olympic and Sprint. The Olympic course is the longer of the two, with a 1000 meter open water swim, 20.8 mile bike ride, and 10K run. The Sprint course is a 500 meter open water swim, 10.4 mile bike ride, and 5K run.
We are excited to add a DUATHLON to this year’s event, so the Wildlife Challenge will consist of an Olympic triathlon, Sprint triathlon, AND a duathlon. The duathlon will be a 5K run, 10.4 mile bike ride, and 5K run. The course will be the same as the Sprint triathlon course (minus the swim portion).
All courses are located on U.S. Corps of Engineers park land, and we work closely with USACE to provide a great experience for our athletes and spectators. They do an excellent job in maintaining the land and prepping it for race day! We also have a solid team of volunteers and sponsors who make this event possible, and without their continued support, there would be no Wildlife Challenge. We will be thanking them frequently in the coming months as we approach race day!
The event is limited to the first 200 registrations – all participants will receive a goodie bag, finisher medal, and will be guaranteed a t-shirt if signed up by July 10, 2018. Both the triathlon and duathlon will be USAT sanctioned, and is a part of the 2018 Mid-America Multisport Series.
