Steamboat Snowshoe Series – Loudy Simpson Park

Follow The Footsteps Of Dinosaurs – the Yampa Valley Trail is the perfect trail to practice on for beginners or advanced hikers. It is over 100 miles end-to-end and takes approximately 3-4 days to hike. This great trail follows the dinosaur traces to the Dinosaur National Monument. Enjoy the amazing views and wildlife on this trail. If its mountains, hills or rivers, Yampa Valley trail has it to offer. Soon to offer exciting running races, biking races and adaptive races. Ranging from all distances, like 5K all the way up to 100 miles!

The event at Loudy Simpson Park is the first of five races in our winter snowshoe series.

The course is hilly with lots of ups and downs, it can and will make you tired.

In the event of no snow, or too little to safely hold a snowshoe race, we simply will make it a trail-run, cross-country sort of race. In any event, we will have a race and we’ll have fun if it kills us. If the snow situation appears iffy at all, you should plan to bring a pair of sturdy shoes or boots to run in, just in case.
