Siuslaw Dunes

Welcome to the Siuslaw Dunes Trail Runs in the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, staged just south of Florence at historic Honeyman State Park. These very challenging and scenic runs offer early season point-to-point 50K, 20 mile and 12K adventures that traverse a wild tapestry of coastal terrain, including ancient open sand dunes with “tree islands”, old growth rainforest, stream crossings and remote ocean beaches. This is a truly one-of-a-kind race opportunity that will challenge even the most seasoned runners!

Oregon’s central coast harbors a mosaic landscape of ancient forests, ocean and sand dune ecosystems known as the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. Within the mighty Siuslaw National Forest (pronounced sigh-YEW-slaw), the ever-changing Oregon Dunes are the largest expanse of coastal sand dunes in North America, offering dynamic scenery as well as opportunities for both adventure and solitude.

The 50K is an incredibly diverse, challenging, mostly point-to-point course and there is nothing else like it anywhere, so bring your sense of adventure to the coast and LET’S DUNE THIS! The Siuslaw Dunes 50K course (31.0 miles) offers magnificent views along open dunes, forested single track trails and remote ocean beaches. The course includes approximately 2,100′ of ascent along with 2,070′ of descent.

The 20 Miler offers incredible views on a challenging point-to-point course along open dunes, remote ocean beaches and forested single track trails. The course includes approximately 1,400′ of ascent and 1,400′ of descent.

The 12K course is an amazing point-to-point adventure offering magnificent views along open dunes and forested trails. The course is very challenging but super fun, beginning with a shuttle bus ride from Honeyman State Park down to the forested campground start line, then an epic tour of one of the most unique regions of America’s Pacific Coast.

The event beneficiary is Siuslaw High School’s Cross Country and Track & Field programs in Florence, Oregon. Daybreak Racing’s Race Directors were born and raised in Florence, learned to run here and are alumni of Siuslaw High. We’re honored to give back to where it all started!
