It’s easy to see why nearly 2,500 Shiner residents love the Cleanest Little City in Texas. All Shiner Beer Run routes start & finish at the historic Spoetzl Brewery. The 5K & 10K feature an out-and-back course through the picturesque city, while the Half Marathon will be a hilly but … MORE

Well organized, very scenic course. Plenty of well stocked aid stations. One of the best after parties i have ever been too. Shiner is a small Texas town with very few hotels, if you travel in for the race you may have to stay a town or two away and drive in on race morning. Worth it!

Nice race but hilly. Swag is average but the post race celebration/party is amazingly awesome. The people of Shiner are very friendly and welcoming and you run through neighborhoods, the back country, the city park and then NIRVANA – the Shiner Brewing Company. Just a great day in the sun. Live bands, BBQ, sausage and the age group awards for the half marathon are bier steins that hold 30 ounces of liquid. Yes, I measured using 12 oz beverage cans – holds 2 1/2 cans.

This is one of my favorite half marathons!! There is a limit for the number of runners each year and it sells out pretty quickly so register early!! The course is pretty standard for a road race though it is more rural than typical. There are hills but nothing crazy. The after race party is definitely worth it. Plenty of free Shiner, free food and great music….plus you get a bottle opener for your finishers medal!! The weather tends to be unpredictable and somewhat bizarre for this weekend. The first year I ran I got rained and hailed on…..last year it was just hurricane force winds to deal with but great weather at the finish 🙂

There is a reason this race sells out early every single year- any race held at the brewery is a blast, and people always come back! I’ve run this race twice, and missed it last year because it sold out. The course is in rural areas with mostly road and some trail-ish terrain. There’s hills, but nothing killer. The weather for some reason is always insane this weekend, so be prepared for sleet, snow, rain, or blistering heat- it’s Texas! The after party is awesome with TONS of free shiner, great BBQ, and the always amazing band they have play. Well worth the race entry fee.

Nice race. Great after party. Small town, start and end at the brewery!! I was injured but not because of race. Will do it every year I'm available that weekend. MORE
