Looking for a fun and unique running challenge? You’ve found it! The Sheetz-to-Sheetz Trail Run is an untimed, 14-mile point-to-point race in rural King George, Virginia. It starts at a Sheetz convenience store in the heart of the county, meanders through farmland and forest, and ends at another Sheetz store in the town of Dahlgren. The vast majority of the course is along the secluded Dahlgren Railroad Heritage Trail (DRHT), a rails-to-trails project. Shuttle buses are provided to transport runners to the start line from designated parking near the finish line in Dahlgren.
While we do offer cool awards for the top male and female finishers, this laid back event really encourages runners to slow down and enjoy unique aid stations serving up pie, s’mores, Peeps, hot cider, and other unexpected treats. Finish our race and you’ll earn swag you’ll actually use including a name-brand finisher shirt, an insulated travel mug filled with Sheetz Bros. coffee, and vouchers for delicious Sheetz Made-To-Order (MTO) food and drink!
Proceeds from registrations and raffle ticket sales benefit local children in need via the official Sheetz charity, Sheetz for the Kidz.

This was my second time running this event. A week after moving to VA, I joined a run group and someone told me I just HAD to register for this run. (Mind you, this was six months before the event was taking place. That’s how excited they were!) I’m so glad I did! There’s really nothing like it. A relaxed, point-to-point trail run, on a flat, non-technical course with hilarious signs, pie (you read that right!), a fire, marshmallow roasting, and more along the way!
best community running event in town!!

This is a great race for so many reasons. it is a beautiful 14 mile trek through a wooded flat and wide trail. there is a huge party aid station at the 10k mark and also a generous sized porto potty! the swag is great. the RD sends out lots of communications leading up to the event. It is very casual and not timed. It allows you to have the best experience without the need for a timed course.
