This race was a lot fun. There was nice expo held inside the ballpark. The race was well run. I liked how the 5k started first and there was about a 40 minute break before the 10k started. The 10k did 2 laps of the 3k course. Finishing in the ballpark was a nice ending.
Better than I expected.

I was concerned because of the amount of participants that it would be very crowded, similar to the city’s Feed the Hungry run, but that was not the case. I think it be a great course to PR with proper training. It was a fun run with the bands and the different groups that cheered runners on. I plan to do again next year. Plenty of free almonds!
Will definitely run this again

The race starts just outside Raley Field, goes over the Tower Bridge(twice), and a long stretch south along the Sacramento River, ending near William Land Park before heading back north through the city and ending up inside Raley Field.(The course is very similar to that of the Urban Cow Half, except in the reverse order.)
I gave the course a difficulty of 3. If you practice on hills, it would be a 2 (or possibly a 1.) Going through old Sacramento, part of the road is cobblestone, which was a little annoying (but fortunately it was less than half a mile.)
I really liked the shirt and the medal. However, it wasn’t clear where you were supposed to go to pick up your free burrito and the race goodies (a bag of Doritos and a bag of Blue Diamond almonds.) I also appreciated the free beer; I suppose a higher quality beer than Budweiser would be too much to ask for 🙂

In a nutshell, this has been one of my favorite venues since I started my running quest 4 years ago. This race begins at Raleys Field (AAA Giants Baseball Team, River Cats) and ends on the 3rd base side of the Field. This course is well marked and have plenty of voluteers to guide us. The long sleeve tech shirt was a plus, usually it’s been short sleeve. The Finishers medal is awesome….

The event was fun and like a party from packet pick-up, pre-race, race and post -race. The route this year was different because of local flooding. It was fun and easy, however most of it was the same route I have ran for the Urban Cow. I’d like to do this race again and hope they are able to have the route go back to running around the capital.

This is my second year at running this course and this year they had to change it due to the flooding at Discovery Park. This course had a couple of tight turns (pinch points) overall it was awesome due to the loop and watching the Elites run past me, priceless!! Already looking forward to my third run in 2017

This race can have great weather one year and raining the next, but that doesn’t stop the fun with this race. I love the setting at the ballpark and racing through downtown Sacramento. As the race continues to run through the trails along the river the scenery is so pretty you hate for it to end but you race right to the finish line at home plate at the River Cats stadium. Fun Fun!

Trying not to bias the review because I mentally gave up at mile 10. This race was very hyped as the biggest half marathon in Sacramento. I did like that it was at Raley Field to start, volunteers friendly, V-neck mesh tech shirts for women, nice medal and finish area with beer (very Irish).
