From event’s Facebook page (7/11/22): “It is with great regret we have decided to cancel The Scenic Half Marathon for 2022. We will not be able to use the current route going forward. We looked at other routes and we couldn’t come up with another viable course this year. This is difficult for our small non-profit organization as well, The Scenic Half Marathon is our largest source of non-dues income for the year. This being said, if we can find a suitable, safe route for next year we will let you know. So much construction going on with many people moving here, it will be a challenge to find the perfect scenic route. Thank you for your patience and we hope to see you in 2023. Happy Running!”

The Scenic Half Marathon lives up to its name, with a route across Sandpoint’s iconic Long Bridge, offering panoramic views of Lake Pend Oreille and the surrounding mountains! Well-known as an established, fun and professionally managed race, the Scenic Half Marathon attracts hundreds of runners from all across the country to participate in this annual event.
The Scenic Half Marathon hosts a trio-race event, giving participants the option to compete in a 13.1 mile Half Marathon, a 10K or a 5K. Each independent race awards age category winners and Half Marathon competitors who complete the race receive a finisher’s medal.
As the benefactor, the Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce, is committed to supporting the local community and Greater Sandpoint area. By donating a portion of each registration to the non-profit organization, Community Cancer Services, the Chamber hopes to impact the charity’s mission to support women’s health issues.
