Run Mahomet offers USATF Certified Courses for the 5k, 10k, and the ½ Marathon. Chip timing is provided by It’s Race Time, Inc. for in person runners. Course is primarily flat and considered fast.
The Mahomet Half Marathon is on village streets and paved county roads. It is a flat and fast course with gentle rolling hills at the start and near miles 11 and 12. Volunteer timers are stationed at each mile to provide times for runners. There are water and Gatorade aid stations throughout the course. Gu energy gel will be available near mile 7. Porta-potties are available at the half-way point of the half marathon. The race starts at the High School and finishes on the Mahomet-Seymour Stadium track in view of hundreds of cheering supporters. Refreshment and comfort stations are provided at the Runners Village at the end of the race.
The Mahomet Area Youth Club is a not-for-profit youth club that serves members ages 6-18 and their families in the Mahomet, Illinois community and surrounding areas. MAYC serves as an after-school enrichment program during the school year, and an all-day summer program during the summer months. Through partnership with the Mahomet-Seymour school district we are able to provide quality enrichment classes to more Mahomet students.

Small town race for a good cause. They really do a good job with communication, aid stations and atmosphere. There is nothing scenic unless you like corn fields! It hard to find a half in the Midwest in August so that is how I first found it. I will be back again next year!
