You bring your goals, we’ll bring the rest! Choose from a 4 hour – 8 hour – or 12 hour option to meet your goal, or to just come out and have a great day running on the trails. Jesse Helms park is flat and fast moving, giving you a perfect opportunity to push your speed on a long distance run. Or, just come out and enjoy a beautiful park for hours on end. The course is a 3.25 mile route with roughly 300 feet of elevation gain. In plain terms, the challenge will be meeting the goal you set before you come.
This course starts on a wide open path that leads right to a large grassy plain cut down for speed and is easily traversed. After enjoying these wide open spaces you’ll enter the trail portion of the course where you’ll find beautiful rolling hills with plenty of flats and down hills to keep up your pace. Or, if you enjoy a more relaxed time, take a break and hike the section and keep an eye open for woodland art one of the park rangers has cut into fallen trees and rocks.
We will be handing out special finisher awards to all entrants who complete their race, as well as awards for top 3 male and female for each time frame.
Vagabond Endurance Events are meant to be a celebration of the running community, so come to the race with a smile and ready to cheer on all the other runners around you! We will have a large open area right at the Start/Finish line so you can bring all the gear you may need, as well. Pop up a canopy, set up a cooler, and get ready to relax and run. This tent city will be your home away from home for the day while we provide any extra necessities you may need at our aid station.
