Rockaway Marathon, Half Marathon & 5K

The Rockaway Running Series is an extension of the Rockapulco Summer Series which started in 2001. After many years of going into Prospect Park in Brooklyn on Wednesday nights for their summer series we decided to start our own on Thursday evenings. After many years of mostly locals enjoying boardwalk racing in the summer we decided to expand the program to a full calendar of events including The Rockaway Marathon. Members of our local club – The Rockaway Gliders – help out at events and encourage runners to get moving. Runners of all ages and abilities are encouraged to participate in our events. We are a community minded group who help out when we can using our runs to benefit all.
