People, people, and more people. I won’t rehash what others have said. Get to your corral 10-15 minutes prior to closure else you won’t be able to fit into it. Also, if walking from a hotel, give yourself plenty of time to get to the starting area. It is “people congestion” the entire way with many pedestrian bridges to go up and down. I’ve done the event twice and am happy with that. Will proceed to less “commercial” events going forward.

This race gives you an opportunity to run the strip after the sun goes down and experience all the lights, crowds, and glitz of the Vegas strip. There was music nearly the entire way from bands and dj’s; the race felt like a party. There was nearly 12k half marathoners and another 5k runners for the 10k distance. It made for crowded corrals and long wait times to begin the race (we waited over 45 minutes from when we entered the corral until we crossed the start line). Overall, I loved this race and super happy we picked this for our Nevada race.

Getting into and out of the race is ridiculous, not well planned at all. The course is very flat, fairly dark in spots, and the road is not easy to run on. The crowds and views are amazing, people offering shots, food, and water. The medals and shirts were worth it. It was a great experience and I am glad I did it.

I was really dreading this race due to the evening start time! The weather was great!! Once we got going it was amazing!!! Lots of great sights and picture opportunities. Thankfully also lots of water stops and Porta potties on course! The course entertainment was awesome! Hands down a fantastic race with a cool glow in the dark medal!

Volunteered for this race 5 years. Enjoyed being a participant this year and seeing all the improvements. I liked the expo being at Resorts World. The check-in was easy. Their wasn’t much swag, in my opinion. Just your race bib, shirt, and a couple info cards, and a sample of biofreeze.
Hope they change that. The start line has changed to New York New York and finish at Bellagio. Course is much better in my opinion. Couple years ago, there was a lot of construction.
Now that’s finished the roads are much better. We are home to F1, so most of the strip is very well paved. I did see a couple areas where it could use some leveling out but, it wasn’t bad at all. The start line and corral was very organized with everyone meeting in Park MGM area.
They used T-Mobile screen to display start time information as well as had big screens to refer to. Each color group had their own send-off at the start line. We got to vote on the song we wanted to start off too. That was cool. We stopped to take pics at the Las Vegas Sign. If you come bring a couple dollars for a tip. This awesome guy was taking pics for everyone. I wish I could have tipped him. Loved running at night on the strip and dancing to the music, when I had the energy. Well lit all along with good signage for mile points and 10k. Our LVMPD was absolutely amazing with their presence all along the course. Wonderful volunteers and water stations were spaced perfectly. Being in Vegas strip, we had supporters/spectators out everywhere. We had opportunity to take selfies on the Resort World BIG LED screen. That was awesome! I really loved the taste of FEED gel, and the BIOFREEZE Spray stations (life saver). Never felt short of Porta-potties or medical tents. Haha. I wasn’t well-trained so was one of the later finishers. I was happy to hear my name at the finish line with as much energy as if I finished as one of the first.
My only cons were: Being a later finisher, we got a bag with 3 small snack items in it. I would like to see them have pre-packed bags for later finishers so you don’t feel like you got what was left-over. I paid the same amount as everyone else.
The other con was MGM had all the elevators shut down except for 1. That was not very considerate. We had to walk from Bellagio to MGM and had to walk up 4 sets of stairs. My legs kept cramping. I was not happy about that.
Other than that, Rock n Roll Las Vegas is a great race and I think it is worth coming out to participate. I am actually signed up for next year.

The Rock N Roll Las Vegas race weekend was AMAZEBALLS! What was decidedly a super flat course, ended up kicking my whole butt! Lol..Honestly, I’m not even upset about in the grand scheme of it all. If I’m being brutally honest the temp and elevation differentials from VA to NV weren’t factored into my training and I ignored my zone training/awareness for the sake of my own internal competitive barometer, so it’s me..it’s all me dang it! 🤣🤣🤣 I’d do it all over again though, with mindfulness of course and staying true to my training plan. It will happen again..Vegas I mean..lol..I completed the remix challenge (because I’m a medal ho’! 🤣🤣) and loved every minute of it ❤️💯❤️💯 The course was very busy but not unmanageable or overwhelming. As usual and expected, the elite runners soon parted ways with us mid and back of the packers, so it thinned out. Something about running the strip at night makes me feel like a damn superstar! If you haven’t, you should…If you have, do it again! Lol…Much love y’all!

This was a bucket list race for my brother. It was a compelling option as we qualified for the “All Roads Lead to Vegas” additional medal, so we committed to making a weekend out of it.
The great thing about the race was that it was a unique experience to run at night under the neon lights.
We rented a car as opposed to using ride share or local transportation and I think that was beneficial. We were able to get places a lot quicker, the only downfall was having to pay for parking, which was advertised as free at the Expo, and we found out that was not the case. A couple other things was that the crowds were enormous and it was difficult to get to your starting corral. One last thing that was not up to expectations was the finish line snacks, (chips, banana, water and the highlight was a hot chocolate) big whoop. Not what I was accustomed too, I was so looking forward to a celebratory beer without paying the exorbitant prices.
All in all great destination race but make sure you save up for it.

One issue, their web site needs some work also the communication via emails is weak. If you get same day bib pick up, they charge $50.00 plus processing fee, $10.00 plus tax. $60.00 plus to pick up. The web site also does not say where to go. But the runners are great and the bands are great too.

This was my first time running Las Vegas and it was one of the easiest races I’ve ever run, despite having an ankle injury which miraculously healed itself, thank God! RnR races have been lacking on swag and their expos haven’t been as good as they’ve been in the past, but because this Vegas they put in a little extra effort to make it memorable. The walk to the starting line was not cool and did not seem organized well. The color coding system they had did not vibe well and there was a huge bottleneck just trying to get to the start from the village. People just seemed to run whenever they wanted because they wasn’t much organization. BUT the lights of the Strip made you forget all about the struggles you might have experienced just trying to get to the race.

So i’m torn. I loved the race itself. The beginning was VERY rocky. We had to walk half practially a mile from the start line, and a mile from the finish line. There were so many people that you couldn’t go to the bathroom before hand. BUT there were portapottoes after they let the heat out, so there was that.

The expo was a huge let down. The potential to make something great was there, but it fell flat. Pretty much I would suggest paying the extra $50 to get the stuff the day of the race so you can save your money on a hotel the day before. I would also highly suggest doing the ST Judes bit. It’s a great cause, and you get pretty sweet stuff the day of the race.

It was a flat and fast course. Other than having to weave our way through thousands of people throughout the entire race, if you could start with the first heat, you could definitely PR here.
