My wife and I completed the Hangover Half Series together, which contains 2 5Ks & a Half Marathon. Whenever we signed up, the price for these 3 races, along with the swag & medals, are well worth the price, especially when that price is cheaper than most major Half Marathon or Full Marathon races. With signing up, we got a baseball/3 quarter sleeve length shirt, a beanie cap, tech gloves, and either a 1/4 zip pullover or a long sleeve hooded shirt if you sign up for the series.
This race started at 5pm and was an optional beer run, if you don’t drink beer, they had root beer available. If you signed up for the beer run, you got to take home a plastic beer stein with the race logo on it. This race was also in El Dorado, KS which was about 30-40 minute drive east of suggested hotel in Wichita & the start line of the 2 other races.
The Race had 5 beer stops total (2 at the start/finish line and 3 along the race route, which was a down and back). Starting area was just outside a community building so it was nice that this was available in case the weather got bad. Volunteers along the race course were very friendly and helpful on letting you know where to go and to help with local small town traffic, especially whenever it got dark & it got difficult to see the chalk arrows along the race path. The Race route was mostly along a bike/walking trail that went though downtown and the local park. Stops along the route only had beer and possibly water, but i don’t recall seeing any water cups or bottles available.
Post race/finish line was your last beer stop, along with your finisher medal, chili and cornbread. Winners of each age group got a pint glass and the winners of the beer run got a pint glass and a case of local beer. We definitely recommend this entire series or if your looking for a fun run with alcohol, then be sure to check this one out.

My husband and I completed this race series together. We did the Hangover Series (both 5ks and the half marathon). I’m talking about them together first because why would you NOT do the whole series?! LOL! We got to packet pick up on New Year’s Eve around 4pm for the 5pm race. They had 2 different options for hoodies for the Series. We got 2 of the last 3 or 4. I don’t know if this happens every year or not. The swag was AMAZING!!! For each race, we got a race specific 3/4 sleeve raglan (baseball) type shirt. They are all white with different color sleeves. My clumsy self hates wearing white, but these shirts are great! We got the hoodie for completing the series—we opted for the quarter zip that was a bit heavier material, but there was a hoodie that was t-shirt like material. It was nice to have the option. We also got a REALLY nice beanie with a leather race logo and race logo tech gloves. Since we were over 21, we also got plastic beer steins.

This race started at 5pm and was a beer run, if you chose to do so. Even though not everyone was drinking, the participants seemed more relaxed. This race was in El Dorado, KS which was about a 30 minute drive from our hotel near the start of the other 2 races. The packet pick up was inside, which was great for pre and post race. There was beer in the room for the first beer stop. They did check IDs in order to get a wrist band and stein. This was a small race (about 300 participants), but it was very well organized. The volunteers at the 2 beer stops were amazing, friendly, and cheered a bunch. I don’t think there was anything other than beer, but I wasn’t paying too much attention. The course was a down and back on the road and a paved running trail. It was pretty flat throughout and there were people at turns to help guide us. This was especially helpful when it was dark because we couldn’t remember! Post race was more beer, chili, and cornbread. This was such a treat! The medal was the same logo as the shirt and was a nice one! I definitely recommend this race! We really enjoyed the entire series.

This is the first race of the Hangover Half Series (5K/5K/13.1). I did this course last year so I knew what to expect. The weather was worse this year but still not too bad for December 31st. I managed to place 3rd in my age group and tied my 5k PR so this is a fairly flat and fast course.

This was the first race of 3 of the Hangover Half Series. In 2017, this race temperature was 5 degree. The race director had us stay inside until the very last possible moment to finish. In addition to this run, they have a beer run and chili afterwards.
