This was the toughest race I’ve ever been a part of…. because of the weather. It’s a beautiful venue, the scenery and set up were fabulous. I knew there were going to be hills/mountains (at least from the perspective of a flatlander from the Midwest), I was prepared to gut out inclines, I was not prepared for ankle deep mud and slick rock surfaces. Ragnar is always a blast, I knew it would be well organized and the course would be well marked. But even Ragnar can’t prepare for the 20 hours of rain we experienced. It turned everything into a slick surface and mudbog. We decided it wasn’t safe to continue on Saturday morning, so we ran one last leg and called it a day. Definitely going to do another Ragnar!
