Ocean Isle Beach Bridge Run For Food

All proceeds benefit the South Brunswick Interchurch Council Food Pantry. Both races begin at 9:00 am. Newly designed high performance shirts will be provided to the first 500 registrants. Both courses are USATF certified and timed with the ChronoTrack Tag timing system. Instant results will be provided by RunSignUp. The course will once again take runners over the scenic bridge to the Ocean Isle mainland and back to the island, making the journey even more pleasant and exciting.

Who are we?
The Ocean Isle Beach Bridge Run For Food is brought to you by The South Brunswick Interchurch Council (SBIC). We are a unique, faith-based organization in the beautiful southeastern corner of Brunswick County NC..
The Council is a gathering of several local churches (17 at this writing) who strive to be THE CHURCH of Jesus Christ to our neighbors in need. We are Presbyterian, Baptist, Catholic, Lutheran, Episcopalian, Assembly of God, Methodist, and non-denominational. And we have been working together since 1981.
We volunteer our time and talents to demonstrate our shared beliefs in Christ–being His hands and feet for the hungry, the poor, the home-bound, and those in temporary crisis. We strive to meet both these corporal needs and address spiritual needs of our neighbors. For instance, our weekly food pantry session is opened with a devotional and prayer. Volunteers make themselves available to pray with clients who ask for spiritual support. Our food bags contain Christian literature and children receive faith based coloring books.
The churches of SBIC actively support one another’s missions and ministries through information sharing, publicity and other avenues of communications. Doing these things together helps strengthen our faith, develop our skills and talents in ministry/mission and grow our love for one another as sisters and brothers in Christ.
