Nordmarka Skogsmaraton (Nordmarka Forest Marathon)

Nordmarka Forrest Marathon (Nordmarka Skogsmaraton) in Oslo was founded in 1994, and is one of the most popular marathon races in Norway. Run through the beautiful forested and hilly Nordmarka, a major recreational area both for inhabitants and visitors of Oslo.

The start and finish line is at Lyn’s clubhouse, south of Sognsvann, just outside Oslo’s city center. The trails mostly run on forest roads, with elements of path along the full marathon. Nordmarka is hilly, thus the trail gets a rather demanding profile with a total of approx. 600 altitude meters (whole). At the same time, the soft surface and the frequent meals along the way make the Nordmarka Forest Marathon suitable for those who have not run a marathon before.
