The volunteers had no idea what they are doing. They had 10-12 year olds socializing. They should have had adults there. My daughter was winning the race by some minutes 7-10 year olds. They sent her for and extra running lap. The volunteers at turn around had no idea what they were doing. The head timer said kids should know course, and how can you blame a 12year old? The 12 if they are going to manange turn arounds should not be talking with their friends and be properly trained. How about some adult supervision? Most 7-10 year olds follow authority figures. Last year they had kid do 1 bike lap instead of two causing lots of kids to DQ. This year. They messed it up again. The sent the race leaders boys and girls were sent for an extra running laps. Last year they had proper signage this year virtually none and none for kids or parents to look at. Long Beach was far better. You should expect more management for your racing dollars. Race director directed us to head timer and head timer to race director.
