Earth Rock Run is a quaint, rural and small town race. May is a wonderful time of the year to feature this area and race with the spring blossoms and colors bursting. The only suggestion to improve race production is to provide better course safety. The race is open to vehicle traffic. From the start line till ~5 miles, the course travels with the flow of traffic and without cones/separation. This was nerve racking for me. After around mile 5, runners were re-directed to run facing traffic and there were cone division markers. I was then able to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery and rest of the course.

Easy to get to and from the race. Very convenient parking. Always a plus for me. Beautiful countryside run. Awesome course support. Plenty of flaggers and police. The roads remained open and I would have appreciated better runner lane markings and signs for the oncoming cars. Lots of aid stations and porta potties; also a big plus for me. I would consider doing again.

The race pick up was super easy. Plenty of parking near by. If you preregistered you received a sweatshirt and a trucker hat. They provided water every 2 miles and had electrolyte drinks during several of the stops. The course was rolling hills. None of the hills were overly steep on the inclines or declines. It was a steady rain throughout the race so that might have affected the number of spectators. Overall, well organized race and terrific Shiner Bock beer after the race. Solid finisher’s medal. With healthier legs I would expect a much quicker finish. I think I will be back in 2019 to take on the course again.
