Come run the Mosquito Hill Endurance Run, which takes place at the Mosquito Hill Nature Center in New London, WI. Runners and walkers will journey through a 3.1 mile loop on trails in which you will travel though wetlands, prairies, a forest, and up to the top of Mosquito Hill. A great race for any trail runner of any skill level! The trails are not technical and nice and wide.
This year we will offer a 3, 6, and 12 hour option. A moonlight 5k, and a 12 hour relay event.
Our timed events are designed to allow participants to run or walk as many miles as they desire. This is a great way to set a new mileage PR for yourself regardless of your speed!
Our moonlight 5k allows people to discover the trail at night. Headlamps or flashlights are a must!
Food: All racers can look forward to pie and cider at the finish. 3/6/12 and 24 hour racers will have post- race turkey sandwiches and vegan/gluten free chili to look forward to.
Aid Station: There will be one full stocked aid station at the start finish. Please bring a container for water as we will have limited cups. If you have any special requests for items you want at the aid station please contact your race director and she will see what she can do.
Course: The course is a 5k loop that will be marked with flags. Each loop has approximately 350 feet of elevation gain. The course is very runnable with very few rocks and roots. This year we are adding reflective markers on some of the flags to make spotting the course in the dark easier. ALL runners except for the 3 hour will need to bring a flashlight or headlamp. 5k runners will not be allowed to start the race unless they bring a headlamp or flashlight. It is dark out there. Please be safe and watch your footing!
There will be 1 porta-potty at the half way mark of the course and 1 at the start/finish. The Nature Center Building will be open for bathroom use.
Timing: Our race is manually timed. It is your responsibility to make sure that our volunteers see you and count your lap. 5k runners will receive special instructions on race day to ensure they receive an accurate time.
Camping: Camping will be allowed near the start finish line for all racers. Please be mindful of the space you take up and the noise you make during the night hours.
Pacers: Pacers will be allowed during the entire race for the 24 hour solo event ONLY, except between 6:30pm and 9pm on Saturday. Your pacer can use the aid station but will not be allowed to carry your stuff for you. If your pacer is caught carrying your stuff, you will be disqualified.
A special note for all 3/6/12 hour runners:
This year you can run a mini lap if you do not have time to run a full lap. Instructions will be given at the start of your race for the mini lap option.
