Monschau Marathon

Whether ambitious or just for fun, experience and enjoy a piece of magnificent Eifel nature with breathtaking views and lasting impressions. In addition to the parade disciplines marathon and ultra run, you have the choice between five more running and walking competitions. The Monschau Marathon, chosen by runners several times as one of the most beautiful landscapes, is looking forward to your participation.

The Monschau Marathon is a special masterpiece, with over 750 meters of very demanding altitude, but also an experience for body and mind: unique landscapes, the historic old town, picturesque river valleys and the warm support on the track ensure that for most starters her first Monschau marathon would not have been the last.

Another piece of beautiful Eifel nature is the “Ultras” during the 14 additional kilometers through the German-Belgian nature park. First up to the “Steling”, the highest mountain (658 m) in the northern Eifel. Once at the top, a well-deserved refreshment awaits at kilometer six and, with a bit of luck, the runners can experience a unique sunrise with a distant view of the Monschau countryside as far as the Hohe Acht.

After a short trail, the circuit leads over paved paths through the unique high moor landscape “Hohes Venn” back to Konzen. Here, the field of ultra-runners is received with due applause and sent to the remaining 42 kilometers of the original Monschau marathon track.
