A unique set of circumstances ended up with my participation in the Mill Town Marathon. Its proximity to Seattle made it easy to incorporate into a trip already planned out there. Everett as a city has an interesting history, and the route took us past a lot of the old mill factories, the downtown district, the waterfront, and the countryside. I’m glad I discovered this race and that it worked out nicely. The organizers did a great job to make all the runners feel supported.
A good sample of coastal Washington

Overall the 10k course was good, a small hill in the first half, the second half was very fast. The smell of Everett is very specific, I will remember it for sure. Train sounds were quite distracting. It’s always nice to see the marina and run near the water. There weren’t may spectators on the course. The volunteers made great work. The wooden medal is very nice and the hoodies looked great. There was an option not to take the hoodie and pay less. I would recommend this race.
