There were several races ran on the same day, The web site had corrections so I am sure some folks did not get the change. Ref. time start. Most everything else has improve. However, their award was a very cheap wine glass that every runner I know hates. Totally worthless and breakable. My big issue with this organization is that they do not play the National Anthem. Not 100% sure but I have not heard it at several runs. They also are now running the Tucson Marathon. The National Anthem had better be played. Very sad these folks forget just what country they live in.

That hill in the middle is no joke, but I loved this desert race. Beautiful, remote course through the deserts with lots of runnable stretches. A little rocky in the middle so watch your footing. The volunteers, aid stations, and production were all on point.

This race has gorgeous scenery, mix of smooth and semi-technical trail, and generous cut-offs. The first part of the course lulls you into a false sense of security, with its relatively flat grade. The second half is much more difficult though, with some long climbs and rocky terrain. The temperatures weren’t very extreme this year, but I wasn’t prepared for the effects of the dry air on my hydration. Not an extremely technical course, but just enough to make it interesting.
