When I saw that there was a race at MacQueen’s Orchard the day after my high school reunion down in Ohio, it was an easy choice to double-dip on the weekend. I have good memories of living near the orchard and coming for apple-picking and donuts. Wouldn’t you know it, they had boxes and boxes of donuts for the runners after the race! Prizes for the age group winners included pumpkins of various sizes corresponding to your placing. A lot of folks donned their Halloween costumes, but as that wasn’t my thing I came dressed as a runner who meant business. A lot of other people also meant business and there was good competition for a fall 10K. It was a very enjoyable event.
