This was one of the hardest races I’ve ever run. Run LOViT 100 2019 was my first attempt at 100 miles, and it took just about everything I had to finish the race. The course was equal parts challenging and beautiful. Mother nature had some plans this year as it rained for about the first 16+ hours of the race, which starts at 5pm. As a result, there was a lot of high river crossings throughout the course. Might as well make it difficult for the story, amiright?

No doubt about it — on race day, miserable is memorable. Bravo and well done, Morgan! 👏 As if running 100 miles weren't tough enough on a perfect weather day, I can only imagine what 16+ hours of rain does to the mind and body (not to mention the rivers!). Respect to you for getting this done, and for forever being able to call yourself a 100-mile finisher. And hopefully LOViT is a WS100 qualifier? Thanks for sharing your story here on RaceRaves, and hope you're recovering well — Illinois will be here before you know it! LESS

Hi Mike, Thanks for your reply! While LOViT was not a WS100 qualifier, it's definitely still worth doing! I'm not sure if I'll be ready for Illinois - I've found that I have a stress fracture in my foot so I'm taking some time off here for a few weeks. Might just run Illinois for fun, not time if I'm able! LESS

OUCH, so sorry to hear that Morgan — take care of that foot, you definitely don't want a stress fracture developing into something long-term. Illinois can wait, and there'll be plenty of races to run once you're healthy again. Best wishes for a speedy recovery! LESS
