Course was lovely. Everyone involved was so kind and helpful. Fantastic downhill stretch that makes you feel like superman! Lots of energy stations. Tons of supporters along the way and the finish line to cheer you on. Excellent food treats at the end to refuel. Wineries offered 10% off if you showed your finishers medal. Line up to get wine glass at the end was long, but hopefully this can be addressed for next year. I would do this run again and already trying to rope in some friends to join me.

Generally love Destination Races, but not this one. Expo was almost non-existent. Shirts were a cheap white cotton t-shirt with block lettering with the race name and ran about 3 sizes too small (not that I would ever wear what amounts to a Hanes t-shirt). Post race HUGE lines to get your wine glass with too few volunteers and a disorganized system. This was my 4th Destination Race and so completely different than the others. I was embarrassed to rave to friends about this company and then have people fly to Canada with me for this disappointing race.

This was an expensive race and I’ve expected a organisation that matches the price, unfortunately not the t-shirts were cheaply made of cotton, and to add to the insult no medium for men were left but they offered me a nice large for woman. 🙁
The lines for the wine were quite long and the ones that I’ve had, at least, where of poor quality

The expo was just ok. I am not thrilled with a cotton race shirt. For the entry fee it seems we could get a tech shirt. The finishing medals were awesome though.

Post race festivities were very well run and set up. The park is a great location and allows a good flow of people.

Kelowna Wine Country Half is a sympathic half marathon in the wine region in British Colombia. Early in the morning buses take the runners from downtown Kelowna to the wineyards outside of the city. The race starts at 7 am at a winery and the course takes the runners first up and down through the beautiful area. From km 9 to 13 runners have to run heavily downhill until they reach Kelowna again. The race ends at the waterpark. All in all a lovely race. The expo at the Delta Grand Hotel is small but nice. Everything is easy going. Runners get a cotton T-Shirt as well as a huge medal and a wine glass. Many barrs provided at the finish! Weather conditions were perfect. Sunny warm day, but not too warm as start is early in the morning.

This was my first destination race, and first race in Kelowna! The race was recommended to me by my friend.

Value: the race was approx $130 which is average. You get a cotton tshirt, a nice medal, plenty of swag, and a glass you get to fill with wine!

The course: beautiful, and the 7am start was perfect as it got hot later on. There could be more water stations at the beginning, but overall it is a unique one. It is rolling hills for the first 10k, downhill for 2k, and then flat. The change can be hard on the legs, and it has a trail portion. The finish chute downtown was my favourite.

The swag: so many sponsors!! You will walk away happy.

The wine: you get a glass, and you get to drink to your heart’s content while enjoying beautiful Kelowna.

This was a terrible organized race. It wove through a public beach area and we had to weave around beach goers as we ran. There wet no volunteers anywhere for crowd control.
The pre-race communication was terrible. I was trying to find information and it took over 3 weeks of trying mulitiple methods before anyone resolved my issue. They only reason I got any action was because I posted angrily on their Facebook page.
Not impressed with this race at all.
The scenery was amazing and the wine was good.

The trail along the creek switched it up and kept it interesting and the random locals cheering along the way kept you smiling. Well organized and friendly I would highly recommend!

This race had an absolutely beautiful course. The expo did not have much, not even a map of the race course or transportation information. The official time used the race start, not the time racers actually crossed the start line. All of the wildfires caused a lot of smoke in the air, and could not see the 3 miles across the lake at the end of the race.

The scenery and route was so beautiful and the weather was fantastic. this was my second time running and I can’t wait to push harder for next year. it was also very amazing because my dad and sister came to watch me cross the finish line and then they got inspired to begin running and want to do it next year. they have started and are getting faster every week.
the main down fall that I could say is that at the end you ate looking forward to a wine tasting but the lines r so big and take forever to move. I ended up standing in line the first year for a wine tasting and it didn’t move in 10 minutes my legs were cramping so bad so just ended up leaving. felt like a paid for a bigger experience which I didn’t even get to partake in . also this year the wine glasses the writing is washing off yet the one from 2 years ago is still mint looking.
