Jack-O-Lantern 5K, 10K & Pumpkin Challenge

The Jack-O-Lantern 5K & 10K returns to the Upper Bucks Rail Trail in the Quakertown area. And the Pumpkin Challenge is back for another year. Two new student options will be offered to make the races more family friendly. The Knights of Columbus – Quakertown are again teaming up with the Richland Township Fire & Rescue to present this year’s race. Proceeds will be split between both groups to help the Quakertown area.

COURSE: Wheel measured course. A mix of paved surfaces and gravel rail to trails on a flat course. There is a 90-minute time limit for completing either the 5K or 10K.

PUMPKIN CHALLENGE: Runners of both the 5K & 10K Runs can opt in to participate in the Pumpkin Challenge for an additional fee. Runners will be required to carry (sorry, no bags or carrying devices allowed) a 1–5 pound pumpkin during the entire race. The weight of the pumpkin is dependent on what is supplied by the farmer. If the runner makes it back with the pumpkin still intact, the runner will be able to take the home the pumpkin as well as some “bling”. Kids age 9 and under are not eligible to participate.

STUDENT PRICING: New this year are the prices for students age 19 and under. Kids age 9 and under are Free for 5K and 10K, and are not eligible for the Pumpkin Challenge. Kids 10 to 19 are half the Adult prices.
