Race Under Nordic Midnight Sun
Lahti is the gateway to the Finnish Lake District, located less than an hour from Helsinki. It’s known for its vibrant urban city culture with many bars, restaurants and cafes to enjoy the unique lakeside social life. IRONMAN 70.3 Lahti has become a firm favourite in the triathlon calendar, and with a unique start time of 3:30 p.m., this race features a finish under the spellbinding nordic midnight sun.
Everything in one place! The heart of the event is Sibelius Hall (Sibeliustalo) and the Passenger Harbour. Registration, Merchandise, Pasta Party & Race Briefings, Street Wear, post-race Athlete Garden, Awards Ceremony and Slot allocation will all take place inside Sibelius Hall. The swim, transition area and finish line will all be located within the Harbour yard. All this located only 1km from a large parking area and from the city of Lahti.
Swim
The one-loop 1.9 km (1.2 mile) swim course takes place in lake Vesijärvi close to the passenger terminal and around Sibelius hall. Small is beautiful: Swim start, swim exit and as well as the finish line, are all located at the same place – Satamakatu.
Bike
The one-loop 90 km (56 mile) bike course leads athletes through forests along lakes and across rolling hills surrounded by typical Finnish villages like Hollola, Sairakkala, Kärkölä, Vesala and Hollola for a second time before heading back to Lahti.
Run
The two-loop 21.1 km (13.1 mile) run course is very flat and consists of asphalt and gravel surfaces. The course leads athletes along the lakeside, before finishing at Sibelius Hall, a short distance away from the city center.
