This course is used for a couple races each year. Xmas and Valentine’s Day I believe. That is always a fun course with rolling net-up hills for the first half and a steady downhill final 3/4 mile or so. This was the first time I’ve done it in reverse and surprisingly it was equally enjoyable, even if that final downhill push was taken away this way. The tshirt is decent, but there was no finisher medal, and being as how my spirit animal is a raccoon and I collect shiny things (just kidding…mainly), that was a bummer. Race energy was high and lots of people from the community showed up for this 5k for a great cause, and even though I’m super disappointed there was no award, I’ll likely do it again, especially with this being the slow time of year for races.
