Beautiful views, mix of rolling hills, with increasing inclines starting around the mid way point. Was challenging enough to push me, but not too difficult to run in full costume including slacks, lab coat, and mask 🥼👨‍🔬.

Was a little difficult to know where to go during the stretch with spectators walking on the course but I was able to ask and be pointed in the right direction on the fly.

Paved the whole way and minimal traffic interference which was nice when on the back roads with blind turns.

    Never a dull moment.

Beautiful course. No severe uphills that I can remember. What I did not like was that the roads were slanted which was rough on my ankles. Not accustomed to running on side way slants in addition to having ankle issues already. I would still recommend but with that warning. The post run awArds were fun. (Costumes)The wine tasting afterwards was also fun. They did not have the correct wine glass for me. They mailed me one and it arrived yesterday, over a month since the run. Still like destinaton races production.

An enjoyable event each and every year. I’ve run it every year since it started except one (injured), and it’s never disappointed. Beautiful run through the Dry Creek Valley — I always savor the tangy smell of the crush on the fields. And the people who run it always have a great time. Most wear costumes, so it isn’t an intense race — more of a celebration spent running. And the wine tasting at the end is epic! Wineries who participate are among the best in that very well-known region. Great experience from beginning to end.

A tradition to run this race with a group of friends. It’s both a race of accomplishment and festivities. Always on the weekend of Halloween everyone dresses up. The scenery can’t get better and the enthusiasm from the community brings you to the finish line. It’s great when the race ends in the square, but that changes every year. Either way, you are in the wine country and it’s a good way to spend the rest of the weekend.

Location was great but preparation for rainy weather was not good. Finish line was particularly confusing as to where to pick up gear and how to get back to initial parking area. Mud everywhere didn’t help. Sorry to be negative but for the price of the entry things should have been better organized.

It was a great race in one of our favorite places. It was a bit more climb than I was used to, but the run and related events were very well done. I even got to meet Meb who gave me running tips! Beautiful place. Bad weather was the only downfall of a great event.

This was the best way for an active person to see wine country for the first time. I did this as a “girls trip” and it couldn’t have been any better. We started in San Fran and drove up through Napa so we experienced that but loved staying in Healdsburg. After the race we took some time for recovery then went to some of the wineries we ran past earlier that morning. Running through the vineyards made taking the wines there later even more special. The course was hilly with lots of turns but the scenery all the way throughout made it worthwhile (even though it was spitting rain majority of the time). The toughest stretch however was the finish, the scenery wasn’t as pretty.

The course is scenic and challenging, which makes the post party wine even better. You can’t beat running through empty roads in wine country. Packet pick up the day before or morning of is a nice perk for those out of town’ers. If you join as a team you can get a discount. Make sure to bring friends, so they can party with you afterwards!
I’ve ran this race twice. To different courses, two different starting points/ending points, and two different finisher parties, but both times a ton of fun. This is the 13.1 I’ve traveled out of state for, and I know Ill be back.

This race can’t be beat for scenery and a fun vibe! It was a rainy morning, which added to the sparkling fall colors and “what the heck, let’s do this” vibe. The rain did not stop spectators from coming out to offer wine tastings and high fives, either. Running in to the finish line through a rainy haze really lent a celebratory feel to the day. The two things that could be improved upon were mylar blankets at the end and more aid stations, although not having many aid stations improved my time, as I couldn’t stop for the blister on my foot:) and just had to “suck it up, buttercup”!

The scenery is beautiful and lots of rolling hills to add some variety. It was very rainy (uncommon for the area and time of year) so I’m positive it is even better than what I experienced. Still, this is one of the most beautiful road races I have participated in (>10 in 2016) The expo is limited and parking at the event site for the festival at the end is crowded. The winery was dog friendly and very comfortable to relax and have a good (and a little muddy!) time.
