Are you ready to get loopy??
This is the same course you know and love but under new management with Palmetto Ultras.
The Hallucination 6/12/24 Hour + 5ish Miler Trail Race begins at Biggin Creek Trail and is presented by Fleet Feet and Billy Simons Real Estate.
Camping will be made available Friday afternoon starting at 5PM and last the duration of the event. Please park in the parking lot and set your tent up on the other side of the fence in the field. Spots are on a first come first serve basis.
Porta-a-johns will be available on-site. There are plenty of restaurants, stores, gas stations etc…right down the road from the trail so you can send your crew out if needed.
If you are running the 24hr event, pacers may join you at the 12 hr (8pm) mark.
Aid Station
There will be one aid station at the start and finish with all your usual ultra snacks: chips, pretzels, candy, water, Tailwind, pickles, and more. We’ll also be firing up the grill and putting out some hot food throughout the day/night as well. Runners and volunteers eat for free. You can add on meal tickets at checkout for $5 each for friends/family/crew–this helps us make sure we have enough food for everyone!
Here’s what we have planned so far–menu subject to change:
1pm: Hot Dogs
6pm: Burgers
Overnight: Hashbrowns–channel that inner waffle house vibe
8am: Pancakes
We are going cupless in an effort to create less waste from these events! We are more than happy to fill up bottles/bladders/your reusable cup to keep you hydrated out there.
Night Running
For those who are participating in the 12/24 hour events you are required to wear a headlamp/waist light when it gets dark. Race Director will inform you when you need to have your light on. Please bring spare batteries, back up lights, charging packs—if you don’t have a light you’re not running. We want you to have fun but also be safe.
Course Overview
You’ll be running on a mix of dirt roads and single track trail. I’ve ran a lot of trails here in Charleston but this trail makes you feel like you are somewhere else with it’s switchbacks and a few (very) short climbs/descents. Each loop has about 40 feet of elevation gain. The course is a 2.5ish mile loop that will pass by the start/finish line and tent area after each loop making it easy to access your stuff and your crew!
Swag & Awards
Everyone who registers will get a hoodie with our NEW amazing logo on it (please select your size at checkout).
Finisher awards will be issued to everyone who completes the time (6/12/24hr) or distance (5ish miles) that you registered for. There is no minimum amount of miles you need to run to get your finisher award. This year finishers will receive an enamel camping mug
Awards will be presented to the top 3 male/female finishers for 6/12/24hr and 5ish miler.
For those that complete 100 miles in 24 hours, you will be awarded a buckle with our new race logo (check it out in the pictures!).
