Mainz marathon is a very popular and well organized race. Runners can choose between full or half marathon. All runners start at 9.30 am. The course is flat and takes runners to different parts of the city. Of course the best atmosphere is in downtown between km 9 and 15. This part is really amazing. Also the finish is amazing with many spectators cheering for all runners. In the finish area runners get different drinks (incl. alcoholfree beer), bread, bars, cakes and fruits. It´s a tradition that all runners get a present at the expo – this year it was a jubilee towel. By the way, the expo is a very nice one with very good offers.
