At Girls on the Run (GOTR) we inspire girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind. Trained coaches lead small teams through our research-based curricula which includes dynamic discussions, activities and running games. Over the course of the ten-week program, girls in 3rd-8th grade develop essential skills to help them navigate their worlds and establish a lifetime appreciation for health and fitness. The program culminates with girls positively impacting their communities through a service project and being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K event.
The 5K Course is a 3.1 mile course through New Hope, beginning and ending on the grounds of the New Hope Solebury School Campus near the tennis courts. 5K participants will pass a water stop on mile 1.5, and 2.5. Cheer Teams will also be placed along the course to cheer on the girls and 5K participants.
The GOTR Village has lots of fun activities for children and families. Our “Happy Hair”, sidewalk chalk, bib and poster decorating, GOTR merchandise, the Kona-Ice truck, sponsor giveaways, and more exciting activities can be found in the GOTR Village. It’s a great place to spend time before and after the race!
Water will be available at the start. Two Aid stations will be available on the course. Each participant should plan to take no more than two servings of water at each Aid Station. Runners are also encouraged to bring water bottles along on the course. Additional water and snacks will be available at the finish line.
