The Marathon, half (and relay marathon) of the Deutsche Weinstrasse/ German Wine Road is held every second year in spring. The courses have changed over the years. The race is organised by the municipal and is solidly organised, tents for bag drop off, showers, little food truck area. Only three vendours for last minute shoppings of socks or gels. The course is partially though the towns and villages on asphalt roads and partially through the vineyards and on hiking tracks (not a flat course). Highlights are the sponges in grape shapes and a wine shower (Riesling Wine), the medal is always in a grape shape as well. All in all nice, but not hyping about the race.
