This run is on my list every year. I think I have missed two in its nine years. Always a great run.
Super friendly, we were thanked several times for running by many volunteers
Price is always awesome and as always 100% of registration fees go to their charity
Swag and food freebies are always the best.
15k runners always get a bonus something in their packet that the 5k runners don’t get. This year it was a car seat cover
Course is great. A mix of flat and hills. Not super hilly but there are a few that will make you work.
    Finish line celebration is great.
I am already registered for next year.

I really did not know what to expect but I quickly learned when I drove the route the day before… HILLS! Not huge hills but rolling hills, some a bit challenging if you are not prepared. There were several aid stops along the way and some community support. Covid protocol changed a few things but it was very well-organized. One of my favorite parts was the warmup before the race. Several leaders in the bandstand area getting everyone pumped up and ready to run.

This is the 8th year of this event and I think my 5th year to participate. Always an awesome event. This year was no exception even with the current COVID environment. Same great semi challenging 15k course (they also have a 5k and a 1k) that the first few miles are flat but the last few miles are hilly with the longest steepest just before mile 8 and then it is still uphill to the finish.
The swag is always good, a quality shirt, medal, and some kind of a bonus item. This year in the 15k bag you got a microfiber towel, a face mask, and a cosmetic bag. Normally post race you get the water, sports drink, banana, and chocolate milk plus they have a parking lot full of vendors giving away food samples and other items. This year due to COVID, when you picked up your bib you were also handed a goodie bag with food samples (if you picked up early as I saw on race day there were no more goodie bags at bib pickup) and after you finished you were given another goodie bag full of samples. I almost prefer this years goodie bags to having to walk through the crowed parking lot elbow to elbow with others to get samples.
Bottom line one of the best run events that I will always have on my schedule. Great price, swag, giveaways, course, course support, and post race events.

This is my fourth or fifth time to run this event. It is always awesome and will always be on my race calendar
    A 1k, 5k, & 15k are offered.
I have always done the 15k
Course isn’t flat so it is slightly challenging but not a so much that it isn’t a fun course. Great on course support. Well staffed hydration stations, some on course entertainment, and some local resident support.
Prize money is paid so they always have elite athletes in the 15k.
Race production, great swag, freebies, and a fun course make this race shine.
While most events packet pickup swag bags have been empty, this event continues to provide more than just a bib and shirt. The 15k bag had a water bottle and socks along with a few other samples and coupons. The post race event is something else, a parking lot full of vendors handing out products, most participants walk away with at least on grocery bag full of food and beverage items.
This is a well run event and every year unlike most other events, attendees increase. I believe they said this was the biggest year.
But also because of that parking is an issue. We always arrive an hour early and this yeR the lot we usewas almost full. So if you go arrive at least an hour early for parking and carpool if you can.

This was my third or fourth time running this event. I ran the 15K each time.
    They also have a 5K and a kids 1K.
Since I have reviewed before I will hit the highlights
    Low entry fee
Awesome swag. Always a quality shirt, sometimes a bonus item. 15k runners got a 1/4 zip thicker pullover. There was also a runners hat in the bag as well as a jar of peanut butter
Packet pickup is easy both prior to race day and they have race day pickup
Race day. Parking is good. Several lots available and some park in area neighborhoods. But get there early to get one of the lot spots
    Bag check is available
Corral starts with honor system seeding. 15k starts first, th is there were 5 waves. 5k started after 15k. Out and back course.
Water stops with water and sports drink every two miles.
One stop, think it was mile 6 had energy chews
Course – asphalt roads. First 6 miles mostly flat with a few small inclines. At mile 7 there is a larger incline that makes you work. Also the last half mile or so to the finish is uphill. Semi challenging course but I would say it is hard
Great crowd support at various spots.
Scenery is okay. Just running through the last few miles are through a nice neighborhood
Finish line. Big crowd At finish get your medal, water, sports drink, banana, and chocolate milk.
A results tent will print out your time and place.
    Post race concert
Post race freebies. Lots of freebies and for the last two years for runners only. A big and great change. They were handing out pop tarts, muscle milk, cheese sticks, meat snack sticks, candy, bbq sauce, sports drink, water, snack bars, tacos, coffee, and more. Event is run by a grocery store so lots of food products are handed out.
Even if freebies were not this is a first class event and is the main reason I continue to run it. Well managed, great semi challenging course, and great swag.

This was my second year running this event and I will continue to return every year if possible.
First class event from registration to post race communication.
I registered early when they first opened up online. They gave away shirts to the first 100 registered, awesome bonus for me. Always great communication via email, website, and their facebook page. I never was worried about missing any details. But this was also my second year so I know the ropes.
Packet Pickup is at the Brookshires store. You pick up your bib and shirt. They always have a couple freebies they throw in when you do their 15K run. This year it was a shaker bottle and a jar of peanut butter. My wife did the 5K and she did not get the bottle but did get the peanut butter. They also have additional shirts for sale.
Race Day, There are various places to park for this event. My recomendation is to get there early as spaces fill up and this is a very popular run not only with runners but locals come out for the food give aways. I normally arrive to a run at least an hour early so I am not rushed and parking is never an issue.
Pre-race is pretty much just people milling around. they did have the food giveaways open already so a tip, if you are one that likes to enjoy the course more than the faster runners, arrive early and get your food give aways then take them to your car. By the time the later runners finish most of the freebies are gone.
This race has honor system corrals and they start in waves which is nice. They always have fast pro runners since they give prize money. I can only speak on my experience with running in the front corrals. I am sure it was a different one in the back. The course is challenging but not brutal. I ran the 15K and the first half was mostly flat with some smaller inclines. it winds thru Tyler some residential and some business areas. It is not real scenic but most in town runs have that issue. the second half is where the hills kick in, they get longer and taller so it is a little challenge but hey we cant always run flat courses. They did have several water stations that provided water and sports drink, no snacks. There were also a few bands on the course, mostly high school marching type bands which was nice. Not too many spectators on the actual course. The finish line is good, announcers calling out names, more crowds. When you finish you can get water, sports drink, chocolate milk, a banana, and a snack bar. You also get a blanket, not a emergency type blanket but a real throw type blanket. They have medals for the 5K and 15K finishers. it was a nice medal but i like last years better.
After you finish you can walk thru the festival where they are giving out food samples but not the small kind, most are full size boxes of grocery store foods. There is also protein drinks being distributed. A stage is set up and band is playing. There are some bounce houses for the kids. There is also a 1K run for the kids later.
Post race communication is great. You get all the race photos downloaded for free.
This is a first class event and as stated i will try to run it every year.

This is one of the most well organized events. AWESOME Swag, shirt, socks, hat, blanket, medal, & lots of food. Powerade on course was not watered down! Course is not difficult but a few hills have a bite. I ran the 15K awesome distance. There is a 5k option. We were blessed with some awesome weather this year. This was my first time running this race and I will be back next year.
