Start to finish, so well run. Easy packet pickup. Beautiful scenery. Terrific weather. Course was moderately challenging (especially the hill at mile 12). This is a fantastic event. MORE

Easy course, nice run. Well supported. All was good. Except it wasn’t a full half marathon. So I ran my ass off for nothing. I should have PBedw instead o was quarter miles short. So frustrating.
I mean it was cheap and a cool race. But if you’re trying to place or PR, find a sanctioned course!

I have ran the race before. I’ve run the 5k &10k so why not go for the trifecta and run a half. Ran a personal best. The course is flat and a bit crowded especially the last two miles when the course merges with the 5k walkers and family groups.
The proceeds are very a very good cause. Overall a well produced race.

I really enjoy the course, our greenbelt is always a beautiful place to run. The after party at the park it awesome too. The medal has never disappointed me.

This is my 2nd review (pardon my typo on the title of the last review, should be “bias” not “bia”), so I feel guilty that I’m swaying the ratings, but I really do like this event. This is the only half marathon in my home state that I have participated in and now I’ve done it twice. I did it a 2nd time because my wife & I decided to do it together, at her pace. It was just as fun the 2nd time. The medal was great and even better than the 2014 event.

Full disclosure – I live in Idaho & do training runs on most of this course.

Now that I’ve been upfront about that, honestly, this is a really fun & cool event. It morphed from a women’s only race to open to coed and add many additional aspects.

Expo: The expo is great & they have many non-running themed booths. Great give-aways and lots of energy. Lots of cool swag. They even have a booth that will add your favorite slogan to your race shirt, which I’ve never seen anyone do this before.

Course: It hits the most beautiful parts of Boise. Starts at the Capital Building early in the morning, as the sun begins to rise in the distance. The way they spread out the starting line ensures you’re not miles away from the announcing fun & excitement. You go near the foothills in a quiet part of town, then turn back toward downtown, running along part of the Greenbelt. The 1 “hill” or slight incline leads up toward the Boise Train Depot. The sight of the Train Depot keeps your mind off the incline & there are lots of cheering fans to help you get to the top. Once on top, beautiful views of Boise all around. The finish line in Ann Morrison park is perfect.

The medal gets better and better each year. Online pictures do not do it justice.
