Fins, Flippers & Fun 5K (virtual)

The 4th annual Fins, Flippers & Fun 5K benefits Channel Islands Marine & Wildlife Institute (www.cimwi.org) which is a nonprofit organization that rescues and rehabilitates marine mammals in Santa Barbara and Ventura counties in Southern California. CIMWI is an all-volunteer operation that relies on public donations to help fund their efforts in saving wildlife.

Participants are encouraged to dress as a marine animal of their choosing. You will automatically be entered into the drawing by submitting a photo of yourself in costume along with your race number. The prize is a lovely CIMWI donated gift basket.

Additionally, nonprofits are really struggling during the pandemic as they are not able to conduct many of their usual in-person fundraising events. We are asking any participants who wish to participate to help us fundraise through their own race page by getting donations from their friends and family members (a template is provided through registration). As an incentive, top fundraisers will be awarded prizes! Participating in fundraising for CIMWI is not a requirement to register, but we sure would appreciate the help during these trying times.

We will miss the fun of being together at our event but we’ll be cheering each other on virtually and look forward to being back in person for Fins, Flippers & Fun!
